Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability. the three core goals of information security. **Confidentiality** = only authorized entities can read the data. **Integrity** = data hasn't been tampered with. **Availability** = services are up and responsive when users need them.
How this shows up at NCAE
NCAE scoring is almost entirely an **Availability** test. every minute a service is down is a missed scoring opportunity. Integrity matters too (SMB Read '22 files have incorrect content' is an integrity failure).
